During the second lockdown,  our show homes and view homes remain open for viewings – by appointment only.

Likewise, if you are preparing to buy a home with us and have an existing home to sell or your home is already on the market, you can still move house during local/national lockdowns. Estate and letting agents as well as removals firms can continue to work and people looking to move home can continue to undertake viewings. But all must follow the Covid safety guidance.

Staying safe, alert and helping to control the spread of disease remains our top priority which means that viewings will be slightly different than before. For example:

  • Booking an appointment – customers must be free of Covid-19 symptoms beforehand. If you or any member of your household is showing symptoms of COVID-19 or is self-isolating then please do not request an appointment and we can arrange a viewing at a safer time.
  • Only 2 members of the same household to attend the viewing at any one time.
  • We will ask you to log in using the NHS track and trace app if you have this on your mobile device, alternatively we can log your details manually.
  • Appointments will last for up to 60 minutes and you will be the only customer(s) viewing the property at any one time.
  • Upon arrival, please sanitise your hands and after leaving the sales office. Please bring gloves if you have them or these can be provided. Please wear a suitable face covering as described in government guidance unless you are exempt from this requirement.
  • When viewing our properties in person, please avoid touching surfaces wherever possible, and use the hand sanitiser provided.
  • Please observe 2 metre social distancing whilst in our sales office.
  • Observe Covid-19 signs and measures in place.
  • A new home can be reserved with us electronically/virtually

For your peace of mind, we will ensure that all surfaces, such as door handles and hand rails are cleaned with anti virus/bacteria cleaning products.

Build & Construction:

Construction sites can continue. During the current pandemic, we have heightened all efforts to keep our staff/extended colleagues and customers (current and potential) safe and healthy. We are continuously closely monitoring developments and movements of our workforce and monitoring all government guidelines which affect any of us directly.

For our existing sites, we are managing to continue build whilst respecting the new government distancing rules for our employees. This means, so far, that that the current programme for build completion is still possible to achieve for new buyers. However, please see the list of reasons below that may result in unfortunate delays. Each of our buyers will be contacted individually to discuss and amicably agree alternative completion dates:

  • Building Materials – A lack of supply due to manufacturers temporary closures and lack of deliveries.
  • Services – Gas, Electric and Water. Supply delays due to Coronavirus.
  • Instruction from the Government to close all construction sites due to a further surge or peak in disease.
  • Buyers delaying moving – for example: Shielding; Delays with bank lenders and surveyor checks and/or solicitors; existing homes on the market and a delay in viewings and sales; Reversed instructions from the Government not to move home.

Please note all our brand-new homes are unoccupied and vacant and the Government currently advise that people can continue with their transactions, although they must ensure they are following guidelines with regards to home removals.

Reservations:

It is still possible to reserve a plot at Pearson Croft, Wombwell as this can be done electronically.

We will issue a safe access form for all of our customers to read and sign before our tradesmen can attend. This must be returned to Hoober Homes before we can attend to carry out any after sales works 24 hours beforehand.

If Government lock downs state that tradesmen can no longer visit our homeowners’ properties internally to carry out any after care works for the safety of our homeowners and our colleagues, we will contact customers to agree an amicable alternative window for us to attend. If the aftercare matter is very urgent, then we will take the necessary measures to assist and offer guidance and advice where necessary. All after care that is registered within the warranty period will still be honoured even if the works have to take place after the warranty expiry date.
